چکیده
Figure 1. Dorsal hand wound after debridement of infection. DESCRIPTION A 58-year-old woman on immunosuppression therapy for a kidney transplant developed a paronychia refractory to antifungal or bedside debridement therapy. The infection rapidly progressed and required extensive operative debridement. Her resulting full-thickness dorsal hand defect measured 120 cm 2 with exposed extensor tendons.

One-stage, simultaneous skin grafting with artificial dermis and basic fibroblast growth factor successfully improves elasticity with maturation of scar formation.
The efficacy of one-stage artificial dermis and skin grafting was tested in a nude rat model. Reconstruction with artificial dermis is usually a two-stage procedure with 2- to 3-week intermission. If one-stage use of artificial dermis and split-thickness skin grafting are effective, the overall burden on patients and the medical cost will markedly decrease. The graft take rate, contraction rate...
متن کاملThe Use of Fetal Bovine Dermal Scaffold (PriMatrix) in the Management of Full-Thickness Hand Burns
OBJECTIVE Management of full-thickness burn wounds represents a challenge when reconstructive options are not applicable. Fetal bovine dermal matrix is a bioactive collagen scaffold that assimilates into wounds and stimulates vascularization and dermal regeneration. METHODS We present the use of fetal bovine dermal scaffold PriMatrix in the treatment of a patient who sustained scald-immersion...

After first success of epidermal autotransplantation onto a granulating wound in 1869, skin graft become a standard option for closing defect that cannot be closed primarily. [1] Skin graft can be used in various clinical situations. For the reconstruction of traumatic wounds, burn wound, soft tissue defect or skin defect after cancer ablation surgery or after removal of pigmented skin lesion, ...

INTRODUCTION Surgical defect left following excision of a large and neglected scalp melanoma of can pose a significant challenge for the surgeon. Scalp reconstruction encompasses options such as skin flaps, grafts, and various mechanical techniques. In scalp excision that involves dissection beyond the galea, skin grafts and flaps may not take well and not enough tissue may be available for a s...
متن کاملInfluence of hyaluronic acid on wound healing using composite porcine acellular dermal matrix grafts and autologous skin in rabbits.
This study aims to explore the influence of hyaluronic acid (HA) on wound healing during xenogeneic porcine acellular dermal matrix (PADM) composite skin grafting. The results will facilitate the development of methods for improving graft contracture and poor elasticity of composite transplantation. Exogenous HA was added to composite PADM grafts and to thin autologous skin grafts during rabbit...
